GRAND BLANC, Mich. – March 27, 2014 – Sonitrol Tri-County, Michigan’s local Sonitrol dealer, was recognized today for its community service initiatives by the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber presented Sonitrol Tri-County its “Hometown Hero” award at the business organization’s annual Chairman’s Award Dinner at the Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club. In all, the chamber honored a roster of 27 businesses, educators, health care professionals, and citizens for their public service contributions.
Sonitrol Tri-County was chosen by the chamber for a number of community service activities, including its ongoing support of the Greater Flint Boys and Girls Club, continuing sponsorship of the annual “Officer of the Year” Awards in partnership with the Optimist Club of Downtown Flint in observance of National Law Day, and sponsorship of area charity events throughout the year. Mike Buckel, Sonitrol Tri-County’s vice president of operations, who has led the company’s Boys & Girls Club and Optimist Club initiatives, accepted the award on behalf of Sonitrol Tri-County.
“Community involvement is one of our corporate values,” said Sonitrol Tri-County President Mike Wanstreet. “As citizens of Grand Blanc and Genesee County, we’re committed to using our time and resources for the betterment of our community.” He added that Sonitrol Tri-County executives are expected to choose and support a community activity as part of their duties. “When individuals choose a cause they are passionate about, their work in their chosen area will be both enjoyable and helpful.”
