Flint, Mich. – Sonitrol Tri-County – one of Michigan’s largest locally owned and operated security firms — is proud to again sponsor a celebration of National Law Day on May 6, 2013. The event is hosted by the Optimist Club of Downtown Flint and will be held at the GASC Technology Center in Flint.
In honor of the annual event, awards are presented to deserving officers who have demonstrated exceptional achievement and genuine commitment to their profession and the public they serve. Sonitrol has been sponsoring the event for the past five years.
“It is a privilege to honor those officers providing exceptional public service within the community, demonstrating heroism, valor and a great respect for law,” said Mike Wanstreet, Sonitrol Tri-County president.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower first declared National Law Day in 1958. The Day is meant to reflect on the role of law in the foundation of the country and to recognize its importance for society. With 2013 marking the 150th anniversary of the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation, this year’s Law Day will provide an opportunity to explore human rights in America and the impact it has had in promoting the ideal of equality under the law.
